Job Title: Registered Nurse Department : Surgical Telemetry - 3300 Location : Unity Hospital Hours Per Week : Part Time - 24 Hours Schedule : Nights 7p-730a; Every other weekend and holiday. SUMMARY As a Registered Nurse (RN), you’re the engine and the heart of patient care at Rochester Regional Health. Surgical Telemetry – 3300 3300 is a 19 bed, medical surgical unit that provides care to surgical patients, specializing and focusing on neurosurgery and thoracic surgery patients with laminectomies, spinal fusions, chest tubes, and more. As part of our interdisciplinary care team, you will often directly interact with surgeons, surgical Advanced Practice Providers, and Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurses. The skills and knowledge gained on this unit could translate to a surgical nursing position, such as pre-an, OR, PACU, or a wound care/ostomy track. Our unit provides care to many medical patients, preparing our staff to work in any med-surg or critical care environment. RESPONSIBILITIES Provides high-quality, patient-centered, clinical care Performs initial and ongoing assessment of the patient, utilizing appropriate data (i.e. physical, psychological, educational and risk-screen data appropriate for the chronological /developmental age of the patient). Communicates and documents assessment of patient with the interdisciplinary team. Utilizes all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family. Develops and documents plan of care, treatment and services which is individualized and appropriate for the patient needs, strengths, limitations and goals. Complies with organizational policies, procedures and protocols including policies governing safety, medication administration and documentation. Revises plan of care based on ongoing evaluations and updates documentation appropriately. Completes at least one clinical research utilization (CRU) form for submission to Nursing Research Department utilizing a research article from the last 5 years from research performed in the United States. Completes a minimum of 5 nationally approved contact hours (CNE or CEU) per year. Completes mandatory in-services and health screens in timely manner. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing Registered Nurse license in New York State. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. At least 6 months experience preferred. EDUCATION: AS: Nursing (Required) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements. PAY RANGE: $38.67 - $51.92
