Global Sourcing Director

We are excited to search for a Global Sourcing Director to lead strategic sourcing across global manufacturing commodities. This role will drive supplier strategy, cost reduction, supplier performance, supply continuity, and sourcing support for new product development and production growth.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in global sourcing, supplier development, and manufacturing supply chains , with strong technical knowledge across sheet metal fabrication, plastics, electronics, PCBAs, electromechanical assemblies, and contract manufacturing . This role partners closely with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance, and regional procurement teams to ensure suppliers are competitive, capable, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead global sourcing strategies across commodities including sheet metal, plastics, electronics, PCBAs, mechanical and electromechanical assemblies, and contract manufacturing .
• This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports
• Build, qualify, and manage suppliers across Asia, Europe, Mexico, and North America to support cost, quality, delivery, and continuity goals.
• Lead RFQ/RFP, supplier selection, negotiations, and sourcing awards for new and existing products.
• Partner with Engineering and NPI teams early in the design process to identify cost-effective, manufacturable sourcing solutions.
• Evaluate supplier technical capabilities, manufacturing processes, tooling, quality systems, and production readiness.
• Mitigate supply risk through alternate sourcing, regional strategies, and business continuity planning.
• Support sourcing of custom components including sheet metal enclosures, machined parts, injection molded plastics, PCBA assemblies, wire harnesses, displays, printers, motors, validators, and other electronic components .
• Standardize sourcing practices across global teams.
• Use knowledge of tariffs, trade regulations, import/export, landed cost, and freight to guide sourcing decisions.
• Provide market intelligence and strategic sourcing recommendations to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Business Administration, Operations, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or supplier management in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience sourcing globally, especially in Asia, Europe, Mexico, and North America .
• Deep technical sourcing expertise in sheet metal fabrication, plastics, electronics, PCBAs, electromechanical assemblies, and contract manufacturing .
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including cutting, forming, welding, powder coating, machining, injection molding, tooling, PCB assembly, cable assembly, and final assembly .
• Proven success in supplier development, negotiation, cost reduction, and performance management .
