About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in ICU nursing License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Charting system experience required Description: The position involves caring for low acuity ICU patients or high acuity telemetry patients. This is a stepdown ICU, excluding ventilated patients. ICU experience is required. The schedule consists of 3 shifts of 12 hours each. On-call duty is required once every 6 weeks. The role includes 6 weekend shifts over 6 weeks. The preference is for candidates who can start within 3-5 weeks. The unit interfaces with multiple interdisciplinary support teams. Patient population includes adults and geriatrics. The daily census is approximately 20 patients. There are 25 beds in total on the unit. Patient care is primarily driven by RNs with support from PCTs. RNs are responsible for updating the charge nurse on patient conditions. Independent consultations with medical management teams are expected regarding changes in patient conditions. Candidates are expected to manage various medical procedures and protocols effectively. Continuous monitoring of vital signs and cardiac functions is essential in this role.
