This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to working with oncology patients.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform venipuncture and capillary blood collection accurately and efficientlyPrepare and label specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established protocolsAssist providers with patient examinations and proceduresObtain and document vital signs, medical history, and patient informationAdminister injections and medications as permitted by certification and state guidelinesEnsure exam rooms are prepared, stocked, and sanitized between patient visitsProcess laboratory specimens and ensure timely transport or shipmentMaintain accurate and complete documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)Follow all safety, infection control, and HIPAA regulationsMonitor and maintain inventory of clinical and lab suppliesProvide compassionate care and emotional support to oncology patientsEducate patients on procedures and follow-up instructions as directedAssist with patient flow to ensure efficient clinic operationsCollaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support patient care plansQualificationsEducation & CertificationHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredCertification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and/or Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) preferredExperienceMinimum of 1–2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferredOncology or specialty practice experience a plusKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesProficiency in venipuncture and specimen handlingStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentComfort working with patients undergoing cancer treatmentBasic computer skills and familiarity with EMR systemsPhysical & Work RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and assist patients throughout the shiftFrequent use of hands for clinical proceduresAbility to lift and move supplies or assist patients as neededExposure to bloodborne pathogens and clinical environments
