Managing Engineer - ADAS/AV (MS/PhD) Location: Phoenix, AZ (or Natick, MA or Menlo Park, CA) Position Type: Full-time, On-Site Posted Salary Range: USD $181,000.00 - $211,000.00 per year Responsibilities Managing projects from initiation to completion, communicating updates to team members, clients, and staff, ensuring deadlines are met, and identifying business development opportunities Growing the Vehicle Engineering Practice by generating new business and projects Developing and maintaining client relationships Managing, mentoring, and supervising junior consulting staff Handling project and cost management for casework Setting up and executing test programs, including full-scale vehicle tests and component or control systems evaluations Continuing to develop specialized expertise in design, performance, and testing of existing or emerging automotive technology Qualifications Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field 5+ years of experience in ADAS, automated vehicles, and/or vehicle and automotive system design, development, testing, and deployment Legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship required Ability to leverage industry connections to generate new business and projects Strong client relationship management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Analytical and problem‑solving skills Ability to present technical topics clearly to managers, engineers, non‑technical personnel, and clients Leadership experience and proven mentoring of junior staff Field and/or lab measurement experience with good hands‑on skills Versatile, team‑oriented, willing to work overtime and travel when required Salary Range USD $181,000.00 – $211,000.00 per year, dependent on experience and capabilities Benefits Exponent offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes competitive compensation, a 401(k) plan with employer contribution, health, dental, vision, and resources to support wellness.
