Sr Accounting Clerk (Financial Institute)
Temp to Hire, paying: $25 to $33/hr.
Location: Chino CA (onsite)
Hours: Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM
Education & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of General Ledger accounting and account reconciliations
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Preferred:
- Banking or credit union accounting experience
- Experience with BankTEL accounting software
- Knowledge of Federal Reserve, PCBB, and investment accounting activities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Reconcile Federal Reserve and PCBB accounts daily, researching and clearing outstanding reconciling items promptly.
- Maintain fixed asset and prepaid schedules, record additions, and prepare monthly depreciation and amortization entries.
- Record investment income, purchases, sales, maturities, and calls; prepare monthly investment portfolio reconciliations.
- Assist the Assistant Controller with monthly Board reports and various financial reporting requirements.
- Prepare assigned monthly account certification packages and supporting schedules.
- Verify and process transactions through the FedLine terminal, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Transfer funds for investment activities in accordance with Bank policies and prepare daily cash position reports.
- Reconcile Accounts Payable bank accounts and investigate discrepancies as needed.
- Prepare monthly tax provisions and supporting schedules.
- Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice review, coding, payment processing, check preparation, vendor research, and issue resolution.
- Respond professionally to internal and external inquiries and direct requests to appropriate departments when necessary.
- Consistently apply sound judgment when handling requests, approvals, and transactions while adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Support audit requests, internal controls, regulatory compliance, security requirements, BSA/AML standards, and CTR reporting requirements.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.
