Assistant Operations Manager

Shift & Salary Shift: 11:30am–8pm; must be able to work weekends. Salary: $50k annually. Responsibilities Essential Responsibilities Assist in the efficient day‑to‑day operations of the distribution center. Contribute to meeting overall financial objectives of the distribution center compared to budget. Create and foster an environment of trust, open communication, and cohesive team effort. Ensure adherence to operational processes, policies, and procedures. Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing all safety policies and procedures. Conduct required cycle counts, review discrepancies, and make appropriate corrections. Communicate professionally with internal and external contacts. Execute team member performance improvement plans, progressive discipline, and terminations when appropriate. Non‑Essential Responsibilities Participate in monthly DC‑wide meetings to communicate organization and DC wins. Assist loss prevention with audits and safety audits. Coordinate safety and training for all team members and contract employees. Monitor employee time records and approve paid time off and leave of absence requests. Participate in interviewing and hiring of potential DC team members. May manage the DC in the absence of the DC leader. Lead or participate in daily stand‑up meetings at the beginning of each shift. Take an active role in onboarding and training new DC team members. Execute company initiatives and other activities requested by supervisor. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Contribute ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, department, and company. Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. 2+ years related experience preferred. Computer literacy in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with standard operating procedures and safety policies. Ability to analyze financial data for reporting and budgeting. Physical Demands & Licenses Frequent sitting, standing, and walking; lifting or moving up to 100 pounds. Use of hands, fingers, and arms for reaching, stooping, and crouching.
