Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: NICU and PICU experience is required. Must have Level 4 NICU experience. Must be competent in the use of both the Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Cardiac PICU experience preferred. Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials: Any hit on your license must be disclosed. Hits will be sent to UVA leadership for approval prior to proceeding.

Special Requests: Unable to approve time off around Christmas. Travelers are not eligible to return after reaching 365 total assignment days, regardless of time away.

Unit Details: Patient population includes neonates, infants, children, and adolescents. UVA Health Children’s provides primary and specialty care in more than 30 specialties throughout the commonwealth and beyond and includes 111 beds, a pediatric emergency department, a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for infants, and a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for children younger than 18. The complex congenital heart program accepts patients with all types of congenital cardiac defects, including transplants and ECMO. Care includes NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute-care pediatrics.

Shift & Scheduling: Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week. Every other weekend. Every other holiday. Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays. The unit has a self-scheduling model that the manager will explain on a call; a desired schedule is not guaranteed, but the unit will do its best to accommodate it.

Floating Requirements: The RT will be required to work in all units of the Children’s Hospital.

12 days maximum time off
