Optical Network Engineer IV

The Network Engineer IV collaborates with architects and engineers to develop network standards and architecture, tests hardware, and documents project details. It requires mentoring team members, researching new technologies, and providing excellent customer service. The role may include working in a lab environment and occasional travel. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure. Troubleshoot major network and system issues. Document project scope, costs, and schedules to ensure quality and timely delivery. Mentor and train engineering staff, deliver technical presentations. Research and validate new hardware and technology applications. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience. 6+ years of relevant work experience. In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, standards, and technologies (OSI Model, TCP/IP, routing, switching, optical transport). Proficiency with network design, architecture, and troubleshooting tools such as Visio. Strong ability to learn quickly and work in fast-paced environments.
