You have spent years deep in the trenches of ASIC verification, and you know that emulation is where the rubber meets the road. When a design is too big for simulation and too critical to wait, you are the person who makes it run. You understand the difference between a tool that works in theory and one that helps a customer hit their tape-out date, and you care about closing that gap.

You are comfortable sitting with a customer's broken testbench on a Monday morning, tracing through Verilog, SystemVerilog, and C code to figure out why their SoC is not booting and then walking them through the fix in a way that makes sense. You do not need a perfect runbook to get started. You ask the right questions, reproduce the issue, and work the problem until it is solved.

You like being the bridge between R&D and the real world. When a customer hits a wall, you are the one who translates their design into something our emulation platform can handle, and when our platform has a gap, you are the one who brings that feedback back to engineering in a way that actually moves the product forward. At Synopsys, you will work on ZeBu, the industry's performance and capacity leader in emulation, and help customers verify the chips that power everything from AI to autonomous vehicles.

The impact you will have includes enabling customers to verify complex SoCs faster and more thoroughly, directly affecting their ability to meet tape-out schedules and product launch dates. You will reduce time to deployment for ZeBu systems, turning evaluations into production wins and helping customers realize ROI sooner. You will surface real-world design and tool gaps that shape the ZeBu product roadmap and improve the emulation platform for all users. You will build customer confidence in Synopsys verification solutions, strengthening long-term relationships and opening doors for broader tool adoption. You will accelerate the adoption of emulation across new customer segments by creating reusable flows and proven methodologies. You will help customers catch critical bugs earlier in the design cycle, reducing costly respins and improving overall chip quality. You will contribute technical expertise that differentiates Synopsys in competitive evaluations and complex customer engagements.

What you'll need includes a bachelor's or master's in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent practical experience. You should have 8+ years of hands-on experience in IC design, verification, emulation, or FPGA prototyping. You should have strong knowledge of ASIC design verification methodologies including simulation, testbench development, and coverage-driven verification. Proficiency with Verilog and VHDL, and solid understanding of how designs are written, synthesized, and debugged is required. Good understanding of ASIC design and verification flows from RTL to gate-level, including synthesis, timing, and sign-off concepts is necessary. Experience with SystemVerilog or C/C++ is a strong plus, especially in the context of testbench development or embedded software validation. Strong communication skills are needed, you can explain a technical issue to a customer, document a workaround clearly, and present a solution to a mixed audience of engineers and managers.

You can walk into a customer site with an incomplete picture of the problem and walk out with a plan, you are resourceful and do not get stuck waiting for perfect information. You know how to prioritize when three customers need help at once, you triage based on impact, communicate clearly about timelines, and follow through. You are comfortable pushing back when a customer request does not make technical sense, and you can explain why in a way that builds trust rather than friction. You treat every customer issue like it is yours to solve, even when the root cause is outside your direct control, you coordinate across teams and keep the customer in the loop. You can explain a complex emulation trade off to a verification lead in two sentences without losing the nuance, and then turn around and write it up for someone who has never used the tool. You learn fast, whether it is a new customer design, a new feature in ZeBu, or a new verification methodology, you get up to speed and start contributing quickly.

You will be part of the Synopsys Verification Group, working specifically with the ZeBu emulation platform, the industry's performance and capacity leader in emulation. Your work will span presales evaluations, post-sales support, and close collaboration with R&D and field teams to ensure customers can successfully deploy and scale emulation in their verification flows. The team operates globally, supporting customers across a wide range of industries who are building the most complex chips in the world.
