Associate Scientist, Sample Preparation

IQVIA seeks an Associate Scientist for Sample Preparation at its Ithaca laboratory to perform routine sample preparation techniques supporting biological analysis. The role involves executing laboratory procedures, maintaining documentation compliance, and supporting quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Execute routine sample preparation techniques including extractions, tissue preparation, and purification from biological matrices
• Prepare solutions and reagents while troubleshooting routine experiments
• Document testing observations, calculations, and project work per SOPs and regulatory guidelines
• Identify and escalate performance errors or unusual results to senior laboratory staff
• Maintain laboratory equipment, inventory, and housekeeping standards; support training and quality initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences or equivalent education and experience combination
• Six months experience in a regulated laboratory environment
• Proficiency with pipetting techniques
• Working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices and applicable regulatory standards
• Knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control, and hazardous chemical handling procedures
• Experience with laboratory automation or specialized equipment
• Proficiency with routine and non-routine laboratory calculations for specimens and batches

Compensation: $42,700-$89,000 base
