Job Summary
As an integral part of the clinical care team, the Patient Care Associate is responsible for patient care and support activities promoting patient-focused care within the Specialty Service. The role involves assisting patients with activities of daily living, collecting specimens, performing procedures, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and supporting registered nurses in patient care activities.

Required Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Patient Care Associate Orientation Program offered at The Mount Sinai Hospital.
• Three to nine months of healthcare experience preferred.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate effectively with other members of the Specialty Service.
• Ability to set priorities, problem-solve, use proper judgment in difficult situations, and be flexible.
• Sufficient oral and writing skills in English to communicate effectively.
• Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform a variety of tasks and skills in the area of assignment.
• AHA HeartSaver or BLS certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a healthcare setting.

Additional Information

• Exposed to a variety of clinical conditions, technologies, and environmental settings.
• Work requires a high school level of knowledge (graduate or equivalent) to prepare reports, keep records, and deal effectively with people.
