Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.The Environmental Manager will provide leadership, mentoring and direction to hourly, salaried and management personnel engaged in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety (EHS) activities related to a medium to large facility.Responsibilities:• Identifies common and more complex safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organizations operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards.• Ensures EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives.• Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.• Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions, alerts line management to problems and makes recommendations for improvement.Skill Descriptors:Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Extensive knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.Risk Management: Extensive knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.Collaborating: Extensive knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.Problem Solving: Extensive knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.Sustainability: Basic knowledge of sustainability strategy; ability to integrate sustainability into the overall business strategy of the organization to build a sustainable business model.Top Candidates Will Have:Previous extensive experience in air compliance and air permit knowledge, drinking and water waste experience, hazardous waste regulations experience Previous experience working in Foundry, oil and gas, or paper millAdditional Information:This position is in Mapleton, ILDomestic relocation assistance is available for this position.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.  A closer look into the Mapleton Facility Final details:Please frequently check the email associated with your application, including the junk/spam folder, as this is the primary correspondence method.
