Position Information Working Title: Adjunct (Arts & Humanities) Position Number: FA9976 Appointment Type: By semester: Fall/Spring FTE: .563 (30 hours/week, 9 months) Position Overview North Carolina Central University (NCCU) is a historically Black university located in Durham, North Carolina. We seek an educator to teach General Education courses in Arts & Humanities and support the university’s mission of academic excellence and community impact. Primary Purpose of Position Teach General Education courses in Arts & Humanities. Hold 4–8 office hours per week. Participate in Humanities faculty development sessions. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Classroom management skills for teaching classes of approximately 45 students. Participation in department meetings. Computer proficiency and willingness to engage in faculty development. Experience with Canvas or similar learning management systems. Effective communication with students. Minimum Education & Experience Applicant must hold a minimum M.A. degree and 18 hours of coursework in English, African-American Studies, or a related Humanities discipline.
