Travel Stepdown Nurse (RN) in North Ridgeville, OH

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend and holiday

Key Qualifications:

• Valid RN license (Ohio or compact)
• Minimum 2 years stepdown/PCU experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Successful completion of Dysrhythmia Exam (study guide provided)
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, EPIC EHR proficiency, and advanced certifications (CCRN, PCCN, or NIH Stroke Cert) are preferred but not mandatory
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, med-surg, vascular, and post-procedure care highly valuable

Primary Responsibilities:

• Comprehensive assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient care in coordination with interdisciplinary teams
• Administer medications and monitor advanced drips (Cardizem, Amio, Dobutamine, Insulin, etc.)
• Manage a 33-bed unit with patient ratios averaging 1:5-6 on nights (subject to census)
• Oversee lines, drains, and devices: PICC, dialysis catheter, PEG tubes, chest tubes, and advanced airway modalities (except ventilators)
• Act as a clinical resource, advocate for patients and families, and ensure timely communication across departments
• Document telemetry strips and patient progress in EPIC
