Travel Stepdown RN - North Ridgeville, Ohio

A skilled Stepdown Registered Nurse is needed for a contract role in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown). This position specializes in caring for cardiac telemetry, vascular, and med-surg patients, including those recovering from cardiac procedures. You'll be working in a 33-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:4-5 during the day and 1:5-6 at night, adaptively staffed according to census and acuity.


Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour night shifts (PM)
• Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) required

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license in state of practice or compact state
• Minimum of 2 years recent Stepdown or PCU experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification
• Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide available)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Experience with EPIC EHR and critical care concepts preferred
• Must not be a local candidate
• Proficient in managing trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, chest tubes, PCA pumps, and administering telemetry drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amio, Heparin, Insulin)

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized plans of care
• Safely administer medications and therapies per policy and scope
• Monitor and respond to complex patient conditions using clinical judgment
• Manage lines, drains, and advanced respiratory modalities (excluding ventilators)
• Support and educate patients and families throughout hospitalization
• Team up with doctors, PCAs, and ancillary staff for optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document and verify telemetry strips in EPIC once per shift
