Infection Preventionist Registered Nurse RN or Licensed Practical Nurse LPN
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Infection Preventionist Nurse to join our team at Avista Nursing and Rehab in Saginaw, Michigan. As an Infection Preventionist Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient safety and quality care by implementing and maintaining infection prevention and control measures throughout our subacute, skilled nursing, and long-term care facilities. About the Role:
As an Infection Preventionist Nurse, you will be responsible for:
Developing and implementing evidence-based infection prevention and control programs to reduce the risk of infections and promote patient safety
Conducting surveillance and monitoring of infection rates and trends to identify areas for improvement
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement policies and procedures related to infection prevention and control
Providing education and training to staff on infection prevention and control best practices
Conducting regular rounds to ensure compliance with infection prevention and control guidelines
Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and reduce healthcare-associated infections
Maintaining accurate and detailed records of infection prevention and control activities
Requirements:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure in the state of Michigan
Experience in infection prevention and control or a related field
Infection Control Certification or willingness to obtain
Strong knowledge of infection prevention and control guidelines and regulations
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
