Financial ControllerSydney, New South Wales, Australia Or refer someone Job Openings Financial ControllerFinancial Controller (Full-Time or Part-Time)Location: Remote (APAC time zones preferred) Employment Type: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed-Term, or Hourly Contract (Pro-rata) Compensation: AUD 3,500 – 4,500 per month (depending on experience and engagement model) Start Date: Immediate / NegotiableWe are hiring a hands-on Financial Controller to take full ownership of the finance function across two growing businesses:Roomstay – a fast-growing SaaS platform serving the hotel industryDijitally – a digital marketing agency delivering performance-driven servicesOperating across Australia, the UK, and Ireland, both businesses run within a multi-entity, multi-currency environment, requiring strong financial structure, operational discipline, and commercial insight.This role is ideal for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys owning finance operations end-to-end, improving systems and workflows, and providing clear financial visibility to leadership.This is not a traditional finance role focused purely on month-end reporting. You will be responsible for bringing control, structure, visibility, and efficiency to the entire finance function.End-to-End Finance OwnershipTake full ownership of finance operations across both businesses, including:Managing invoicing across multiple entitiesBank and corporate card reconciliationsAccounts receivable and collectionsSupplier payments and payment runsMaintaining accurate financial records in XeroManaging multi-currency transactions and FX platforms such as Airwallex or equivalentPayroll & ComplianceEnsure payroll and compliance processes run smoothly for an international team.Responsibilities include:Overseeing payroll operationsEnsuring compliance with BAS / GST / PAYG obligations, payroll and statutory requirementsCoordinating with external accountants for filings and statutory reportingMonthly ReportingPrepare structured management reporting packs with insights leadership can act on.Reporting includes:Revenue by entity and business segmentGross margin analysis (especially agency delivery)Operating costs and profitabilityCash position and movementYou'll ensure reporting is: Clear Structured Decision-readyCashflow & ForecastingBuild and maintain rolling cashflow forecasts to provide visibility on:Expected inflows and outflowsCash constraints and risksWorking capital requirementsCommercial Finance & InsightAct as a trusted finance partner to the founder.You'll help:Analyse client and project profitabilityTrack SaaS revenue performanceIdentify margin leakageHighlight cost inefficienciesProvide proactive recommendationsWe need someone who goes beyond reporting and helps drive better business decisions.Process & ControlDesign and implement scalable finance processes across both businesses.This includes:Improving efficiency and reducing manual workCreating structured workflows for billing and collectionsImproving intercompany accounting processesIntroducing clear ownership and accountability across finance activitiesA key objective is to reduce founder involvement in day-to-day finance operations by building reliable, system-led processes.What We're Looking ForEssentialQualified accountant CA / ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent5+ years' experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar senior finance roleStrong experience with XeroExperience managing multi-entity and multi-currency finance operationsStrong Excel / Google Sheets capabilityHands-on mindset — comfortable executing as well as leadingStrong communication skills in a remote environmentHighly DesirableExperience in agency / services businessesExperience in SaaS or subscription-based revenue modelsExperience managing offshore or outsourced finance supportFamiliarity with Airwallex, Wise, or similar FX/payment platformsWhy Join Us?Fully remote role with flexible working arrangementsChoose a structure that suits you: full-time, part-time, contract, or fixed-termWork directly with the founder and influence strategic decisionsOpportunity to build and shape the finance function from the ground upJoin two ambitious, fast-growing digital businesses with global operationsIf you enjoy bringing order to complexity, improving financial visibility, and helping leadership make smarter decisions — we'd love to hear from you.Or refer someone
