Payroll Clerk

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees. This role requires proficiency in various financial software and a strong understanding of payroll regulations and accounting principles. The Payroll Clerk will play a crucial role in maintaining employee records, processing payroll data, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization. Duties Process monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal regulations. Maintain employee records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status. Prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions and ensure proper posting to the general ledger. Perform general ledger reconciliation to verify payroll-related accounts. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks or ADP for payroll processing and reporting. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies or questions about deductions. Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate reporting of hours worked and leave taken by employees. Assist in the preparation of payroll tax filings and compliance documentation. Skills Proficiency in QuickBooks and other financial software is essential. Experience with ADP required. Strong understanding of payroll processing and corporate accounting principles. Ability to perform journal entries accurately and efficiently. Knowledge of general ledger reconciliation processes. Familiarity with debits and credits in accounting practices.
