We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Medical Receptionist to join a busy healthcare practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing outstanding customer service while ensuring efficient front-office operations.
Responsibilities- Greet and check in patients in a courteous and professional manner
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Collect co-pays and process payments
- Manage patient intake forms and electronic medical records (EMR)
- Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and staff
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
- Assist with additional administrative duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous medical receptionist, healthcare administrative, or customer service experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
- Experience using EMR/EHR systems preferred
- Strong computer and data entry skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Insurance verification experience
- Appointment scheduling experience
- Medical billing knowledge
- Experience working in a physician office, clinic, hospital, urgent care, or specialty practice
