We are looking for a personable and organized Receptionist to support daily front-desk operations for a non-profit organization in Columbia, South Carolina. This Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys creating a welcoming environment, managing incoming communications, and keeping office activity running smoothly. The selected candidate will serve as a key first point of contact for visitors and callers while providing dependable administrative support in a part-time capacity.
Responsibilities:• Welcome guests, staff, and community members with courtesy and direct them to the appropriate person or department.
• Manage a multi-line phone system by answering incoming calls promptly, transferring calls accurately, and taking clear messages when needed.
• Monitor front desk activity and maintain an orderly reception area that reflects a positive and detail-oriented image.
• Provide general administrative assistance such as handling basic office inquiries, supporting scheduling needs, and assisting with routine clerical tasks.
• Receive and route inbound communications efficiently to help ensure timely responses across the organization.
• Support part-time reception coverage while maintaining consistency, reliability, and strong customer service throughout the workday.• Prior experience performing front-desk or receptionist functions in an office setting.
• Ability to operate a multi-line or switchboard phone system with accuracy and confidence.
• Strong verbal communication skills and a courteous approach when interacting with callers and visitors.
• Comfortable handling a steady volume of inbound calls while staying organized and attentive to detail.
• Dependable time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a part-time contract role.
• Detail-oriented demeanor, sound judgment, and a service-oriented attitude suited to a non-profit environment.
