Registered Nurse - Cardiac Care Unit
Job Summary
Provides specialized nursing care to patients with acute and complex cardiac conditions, including heart failure, myocardial infarction, arrhythmias and post-procedural recovery. Performs continuous cardiac monitoring, administers and titrates cardiac medications, and responds to changes in patient status. Educates patients and families on cardiac conditions and self-management.
Education & Experience
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing: Required
- Cardiac, critical care or telemetry nursing experience: Required
Licenses & Certifications
- Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification: Required
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions.
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and initiate appropriate intervention for arrhythmias.
- Administer and titrate cardiac medications, including vasoactive and antiarrhythmic infusions.
- Provide care for patients before and after cardiac procedures and surgical interventions.
- Participate in resuscitation and emergency response events.
- Provide cardiac education to patients and families and support discharge planning.
