Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized perioperative nursing care to surgical patients in a fast-paced operating room setting. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and prepare them for surgery, ensuring all preoperative protocols are followed.
• Maintain sterile field and assist surgeons during procedures with appropriate surgical techniques.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes promptly during surgeries.
• Document all clinical activities accurately within the Cerner documentation system.
• Adhere to unit policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols.
• Support patient comfort and provide postoperative care instructions upon completion of procedures.

Qualifications:

• Current State Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Minimum of 2 years OR nursing experience in various surgical service lines.
• Demonstrated proficiency in broad surgical procedures including general, GYN, robotics, neuro, orthopedics, plastic surgery, urology, burn, and trauma.
• Ability to work variable schedules with call responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of sterile techniques, patient safety measures, and surgical protocols.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
