Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into an exciting opportunity to support high school students as a Sign Language Interpreter. This contract position runs from August 12, 2026, through May 20, 2027, and is dedicated to fostering accessible learning in a supportive educational environment. You’ll work onsite each school day from 8:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., providing essential communication access to students who are Deaf or hard of hearing.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting in educational settings
• Willingness to work exclusively onsite, ensuring consistent support
• Ability to secure, or current possession of, a state interpreter license; candidates with a PROVISIONAL license are welcome if their EIPA score is under 4.0
• Experience or comfort working with high school-aged students
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively facilitate understanding between students and staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities for students requiring sign language services
• Facilitate clear and accurate communication between teachers, staff, and students
• Adapt interpretations to meet varying language and comprehension needs of high school students
• Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Collaborate with educational teams to support student development
