Position Summary
The Service Supervisor supports front-end operations by providing leadership and direction to associates while ensuring customers receive fast, friendly, and professional service. This position assists with maintaining efficient checkout operations, resolving customer concerns, supporting cash-handling procedures, and ensuring company policies and service standards are consistently followed.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day direction and support to front-end associates.
• Deliver friendly, courteous, and efficient customer service.
• Monitor checkout lanes and customer traffic to help maintain efficient service and minimize wait times.
• Assist with coordinating associate assignments, breaks, and coverage based on business needs.
• Support cashiers, courtesy clerks, and other front-end associates with questions and operational issues.
• Assist customers with questions, concerns, refunds, exchanges, and other service needs.
• Help resolve customer complaints professionally and escalate concerns to store management when appropriate.
• Assist with cash-handling procedures, register accountability, till preparation, and other front-end financial controls.
• Monitor register operations and help ensure transactions are processed accurately.
• Verify associates follow proper procedures for coupons, discounts, refunds, voids, and other transactions.
• Support opening and closing procedures as assigned.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe checkout lanes, service areas, and front-end workspaces.
• Help ensure adequate supplies are available at registers and customer service areas.
• Monitor front-end conditions and respond quickly to operational or customer service needs.
• Assist with training new associates on customer service expectations, register procedures, safety, and department standards.
• Follow and reinforce company policies related to safety, security, cash handling, loss prevention, and customer service.
• Communicate staffing concerns, equipment issues, and operational needs to store leadership.
• Perform cashier and other front-end duties when necessary to support customers and department operations.
• Complete additional responsibilities as assigned based on business needs.

Leadership Responsibilities

• Provide clear daily direction to front-end associates.
• Lead by example by demonstrating professionalism, urgency, teamwork, and excellent customer service.
• Coach associates on service, accuracy, productivity, and proper operating procedures.
• Support the training and development of new and existing associates.
• Help maintain a positive, respectful, and productive work environment.
• Encourage associates to respond promptly to customers and maintain a customer-first approach.
• Communicate department priorities and expectations clearly to the team.
• Take an active leadership role in front-end operations when department or store management is unavailable.

• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Previous retail, customer service, cashier, or leadership experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
• Ability to safely move merchandise, supplies, carts, and other items as required.
• Ability to perform register and customer-service-related tasks for extended periods when necessary.

Work Environment
The Service Supervisor works primarily in the front-end and customer service areas of the store and interacts frequently with customers, associates, department leaders, and store management. The position requires balancing hands-on customer service responsibilities with associate leadership, cash-handling oversight, problem-solving, and daily front-end operations.
