Whitley Penn, one of the nation’s leading audit, tax, and advisory firms, is looking for a Director to join our Deal Advisory Services team!The Deal Advisory Services team conducts financial due diligence engagements related to mergers & acquisitions by private equity investors and corporate buyers. The Director is the liaison between the Partner, the client, and the professional staff. Directors are responsible for managing multiple client engagements, simultaneously, developing and training staff, and making associations to develop new business for the firm.Whitley Penn has become one of the fastest growing public accounting firms by providing exceptional, personalized service that reaches far beyond traditional accounting. Position Details:Title: DirectorClassification: Full-time; Monday - Thursday in office; remote on Fridays, if desired; general work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8 hours/day between 8am to 5pm with overtime, as needed.What You Will DoLead financial due diligence engagements related to mergers and acquisitions and divestures by private equity investors and corporate buyers and sellersProvide advisory services to clients to assist them in maximizing their financial opportunities and manage the risks involved with possible mergers and acquisitionsBuild and maintain strong client relationships to reinforce connections with current and prospective clients of the firm; provide value added services by cross-selling other lines of serviceOversee and ensure the delivery of final work projects within established deadlinesAnalyze financial/operational results of target companies through reviewing accounting information and conducting interviews with managementFinancial analysis of cash flows, quality of earnings and assets to identify potential liabilities and risks as well as the impact of findings on the valuation of the target companyIdentify issues for purchase price adjustment consideration, deal structuring or deal terminationIdentify post-acquisition action steps to achieve anticipated earnings/cash flow improvementsEvaluate effects of seasonality and cyclicality on cash flow requirementsOversee staff responsibilities such as the preparation of financial information and detailed reportsManage, train and coach staff; provide timely feedback to promote and support a culture of professional growthWhat You Need to Get HereBachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree preferredCPA license or CPA eligibility preferred5+ years of experience in one of the following areas with a public accounting or advisory firm: accounting, advisory, financial audit, or transaction advisory services experience (experience related to mergers and acquisitions or financial due diligence preferred)Strong current knowledge of U.Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), mergers and acquisitions, or transaction servicesAbility to independently manage multiple projects and act autonomously while being a team playerCapable of independently performing research of industries, markets, economies, etc.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office, primarily ExcelWillingness and ability to travel when necessaryWhy Whitley PennOur total rewards are incredibly competitive.
