Volt is Immediately hiring for  Part -Time Payroll Specialist (3 Days a week M, T, & F)  for a company located in Riverside, CA.

As a  Payroll Specialist   you will:

• Day to Day Responsibilities
• Answer employee questions, monitor task progress, and verify completion of payroll related activities.
• Process weekly payroll for 600+ employees with accuracy and timeliness.
• Audit, verify, and summarize employee timesheets.
• Enter payroll data accurately into the payroll system.
• Maintain working knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations.
• Process checks and direct deposits.
• Provide backup phone coverage as needed.
• Assist with timesheet and budget audits.
• Complete assigned projects and administrative tasks.
• Identify cost saving opportunities and recommend workflow improvements.

The ideal candidate will have:  

Required Skills & Qualification

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum one year of payroll experience is preferred.
• Bilingual communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, including new hires.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to perform basic math functions: whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages; proficient with 10 key.
• Team oriented, proactive, adaptable work ethic with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• 1+ year of payroll experience preferred
• Bilingual communication skills
• Strong data entry and payroll processing skills
• Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Team player with a proactive and adaptable work ethic
• Strong customer service and employee support skills
• Basic math and 10-key calculator proficiency

Schedule: Days : Monday & Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM, Tuesday 7:00AM - 3:30PM  

Pay Rate : $21.00 -23.00 per hour DOE

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
