Work Environment

This full-time position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility in Paramus, New Jersey. The facility is designed to promote healing and rehabilitation, featuring advanced technology and equipment. Your typical schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Collaborating closely with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals will be an essential part of your day-to-day experience.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Privado Chiropractic, your responsibilities will encompass a range of critical tasks:

• Execute individualized physical therapy treatment plans established by physical therapists, ensuring adherence to established procedures and protocols.
• Administer therapeutic modalities, such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation, in accordance with the patient's Plan of Care.
• Provide hands-on training and support for patients in performing exercises, ambulation, and daily activities, facilitating the use of adaptive equipment and positioning aids.
• Accurately document patient progress, maintaining ongoing records such as progress notes to inform treatment adjustments.
• Refer patients to additional services and specialists when necessary, contributing to a holistic approach to their rehabilitation.
• Ensure compliance with state practice laws by promptly notifying supervising therapists when a patient requires evaluation.
• Engage in continuous professional development by participating in in-service training and educational programs to fulfill state CEU requirements.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a diverse patient population ranging from those recovering from surgeries and injuries to individuals seeking rehabilitation for chronic conditions. Your role will directly impact patients' journeys toward mobility and independence; this includes tailoring exercises and therapies based on the specific needs and capabilities of each patient.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of New Jersey is required.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred, candidates who demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within our team will also be considered. Having experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is a plus, as it aids in the documentation and management of patient progress.
