The Mitigation Project Manager is expected to create high levels of customer satisfaction, fulfill company contractual obligations through timely and profitable delivery of services, work with teams to ensure documentation, billing, and operational standards are maintained, coordinate schedules and dispatch services, oversee mitigation team performance and job completion, and help train future leaders within the Rainbow team.

Position Summary

The Mitigation Project Manager oversees residential and commercial emergency mitigation and restoration projects involving water, mold, fire, storm, and other property damage losses.

This role is responsible for managing mitigation technicians, coordinating day-to-day field operations, performing inspections, writing estimates, ensuring quality control, overseeing job profitability, and maintaining exceptional customer experiences throughout the restoration process.

This is not a desk-only management role. The ideal candidate is comfortable leading crews while actively working alongside technicians in the field during water mitigation, mold remediation, structural drying, demolition, containment setup, and emergency response projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day mitigation and emergency service operations throughout assigned territory
• Establish and maintain service schedules to ensure all services are delivered efficiently while meeting customer demand and profit margin expectations
• Supervise mitigation technicians including training, coaching, development, and performance management in conjunction with Operations Manager.
• Respond to residential and commercial losses involving water, mold, fire, storm, and other emergency property damage situations
• Perform inspections and manage scope of work on job sites before, during, and after work is completed
• Execute timely, accurate, and profitable estimates
• Write, review, and audit estimates to ensure accuracy and identify deficiencies
• Perform mitigation duties alongside technicians including water extraction, structural drying, containment setup, demolition, moisture mapping, and remediation support
• Ensure all dispatched jobs are responded to in a timely and professional manner
• Monitor job progress, drying goals, equipment usage, timelines, and overall project completion
• Maintain accurate job documentation including moisture logs, notes, sketches, photos, equipment counts, estimates, and operational reports
• Oversee all job files to ensure insurance approvals, customer authorizations, and complete documentation are maintained accurately
• Communicate professionally and effectively with customers, adjusters, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Ensure technicians follow proper IICRC standards, company procedures, OSHA requirements, PPE usage, and hazardous material handling guidelines
• Identify safety hazards and establish measures to ensure the safety of occupants, technicians, and job sites
• Maintain company vehicles, restoration equipment, and operational readiness throughout the department
• Assist with department growth initiatives, operational planning, technician development, and training programs
• Work with management to develop business plans, operational goals, and prospective customer opportunities for the department
• Maintain timely communication regarding operational issues, job updates, and department challenges with leadership
• Participate in emergency on-call rotations including nights, weekends, and holidays as business demands require
• Travel throughout state with potential overnight stays as needed
• Perform additional duties and operational support as assigned

Requirements & Skills

• Minimum 3+ years of mitigation/disaster response field experience including estimating, scoping, structural drying, and moisture mapping required
• Xactimate experience preferred
• MICA, Symbility, Alacrity, DASH, and/or Time & Materials experience preferred
• WRT, ASD, and AMRT certifications required
• Journeyman or Master IICRC certifications preferred
• Strong understanding of water mitigation, structural drying, mold remediation, demolition, and restoration processes
• Previous leadership, crew lead, project management, or supervisory experience preferred
• Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Commitment to excellent customer service, attention to detail, and operational quality standards
• Ability to manage multiple active projects and shifting priorities in fast-paced environments
• Comfortable leading crews while remaining hands-on in the field
• Computer literate with working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, estimating software, and operational systems
• Comfortable working in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics while wearing PPE
• Not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get dirty
• Positive attitude with strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a drug test and extensive background screening
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
• Comfortable standing, walking, climbing, bending, working at elevated heights, and operating in varying environmental conditions
• Available for full-time work including overtime, on-call rotations, and statewide travel as business demands require
