Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (645 a.m. - 715 p.m.), every other weekend Experience: 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with Epic Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective, patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit while promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN utilizes educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Key Responsibilities include: Performing assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrating the ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiating, prioritizing, implementing, and reviewing/revising the plan of care as indicated. Collaborating with patients/families and interdisciplinary services. Utilizing resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization and patients/families. Monitoring and documenting responses to clinical interventions. Facilitating, coordinating, providing, and evaluating education specific to patient/family needs. Delegating tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Serving as a mentor and preceptor. Encouraging and facilitating teamwork. Identifying and communicating opportunities for improvement. Participating in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implementing practice changes and complying with regulatory standards. Participating in the Practice Governance model.
