Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 4x12 Hours (19:00–07:00) | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intensive nursing care to patients with life-threatening neurological and neurosurgical conditions in a 12-bed critical care unit
• Manage complex cases including acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, status epilepticus, and central nervous system infections
• Support patients undergoing endovascular interventions, complex spine surgery, and management of CNS tumors and neuromuscular diseases
• Float within scope of practice as needed per facility policy
• Accurately document patient care and clinical data using Epic electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Certification required (candidates may be submitted with certification pending)
• Epic electronic health records experience required
• Must adhere to facility float policy
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN preferred
• Prior experience in a Neuro ICU or comparable critical care setting
• Familiarity with neurological and neurosurgical patient populations
