Physical/Occupational TherapistJob title: Physical/Occupational TherapistLocation: District WidePay: $62,815 to $91,034 determining on VOEBenefits: Health Insurance w/Vision, Dental Insurance, Group Life Insurance, Persi 2 Personal Days a year and 10 Sick Days a yearQualificationsIdaho Pupil Service CertificationPrimary Responsibility ToDirector of Special EducationJob SummaryTo assess and identify students with fine and gross motor deficits and to create individual programs to enhance the fine and gross motor abilities of students with disabilities; to work as a team with other staff members and parents.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdminister, score and interpret individualized fine and gross motor assessments.Participate in building Multi-Tier System of Support (MTSS) meetings as necessary.Observe student performance in various school environments as appropriate.Develop and implement IEP goals and objectives within required state and federal timelines using district forms and processes.Collaborate with other educational and professional staff members involved with individual students.Plan and implement therapy programs that meet the individual needs of students with disabilities.Write goals and objectives for each student based on individual needs.Evaluate and report student progress to parents and professional staff regularly.Keep records necessary for each child and complete all required local, state, and federal reports.Acts as an educational consultant to classroom teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators as required.Possess knowledge of local, state and federal regulations regarding students with disabilities and the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA).Assume primary responsibility for requisitioning and maintaining needed equipment and supplies.Assume responsibility for his or her continuing professional growth and development by such efforts as attendance at professional meetings, membership in professional organizations, enrollment in advanced courses, and by reading professional journals and other publications.Adhere to The Code of Ethics of the Idaho Teaching Profession adopted by the Professional Standards Commission and the State Board of Education.Participate in appropriate staff meetings.Follow and support the district goals and special education department goals.Represent the school district in a positive manner.Seek assistance should emergencies arise.Know and follow school district policy and chain of command.Perform other duties as assigned.EvaluationPerformance of this position will be evaluated annually by the secondary counselor/district test coordinator and/or the director of special education in conformance with district policy and IDAPA 08.02.02.120.Terms of EmploymentBy contract as determined by the Board of Trustees in accordance with federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policy.Note: All certificated and non-certificated employees and other individuals are required to undergo a criminal history check and submit to fingerprinting.
