Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) to test, troubleshoot, repair and modify aircraft pneudraulic systems and to provide training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth therein. 1. Receives work document(s) or oral instructions regarding problem with aircraft fuel system. Prepares effective training plans to maximize Reserve training. 2. Troubleshoots integral fuel tanks, using leak path analysis and other test procedures such as pressure checks, vacuum checks, dye injection checks, helium and argon gas checks, etc., to determine the source of fuel leaks. 3. Troubleshoots fuel cells to determine location of leaks. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area. 4. Accomplishes modifications and prepares components for storage or shipment. 5. In performing duties uses a variety of common hand tools, combustible and toxic gas indicators, torque wrenches, leak detectors, pressure gauges, manometers, powered tools such as drills and pneumatic wrenches; also, operates ATE such as blowers, filters, vacuum cleaners, heaters, air conditioners, fire extinguishers, etc.
