We strive to care for others as they want to be cared for.The Senior Medical Assistant (MA) is a member of a cross-disciplinary care team that includes health care providers, nurses, behavioral health providers, and other support staff. They support the mission and values of Maple City Health Care Center (MCHCC) by providing patient care and supporting the work of the medical team.Duties and Responsibilities:Supervises and coordinates the work of the MA team at their site to ensure consistent, safe and high-quality care is provided in collaboration with MA CoordinatorProvides lab operations support to the MA Coordinator, including but not limited to procurement, equipment maintenance, quality controls and complianceEnsures clinical decisions are approved by direct supervisor, Northside Assistant Director and Director of Medical Services before implementationCoordinates with MA Coordinator in the hiring, departure, and onboarding of MA staffUtilizes EMR in patient careUtilizes multiple resources for staff communication, providing timely follow upProvides Datalogger maintenance support to the MA Coordinator and other organizational leadersProvides risk incident report support to the MA Coordinator, site ADs and/or other organizational leadersDemonstrates effective interpersonal skillsProvides all duties and responsibilities of the Medical AssistantOther duties that support our shared work, as assignedThis description does not cover or contain a comprehensive listing of all activitiesRequired Skills and Abilities:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualsAbility to run/write routine reports and documentationAbility to speak effectively to the public in person or on the telephoneFluently bilingual: English/Spanish; oral and written preferredDemonstrates effective interpersonal skillsEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalentOne-year medical assistant certificate from college or technical school preferredAt least two years' experience as a medical assistantFamiliarity with primary care medicationsOne-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferredRequirements:Ability to lift up to 20 poundsAbility to perform prolonged or extensive standing and walkingAbility to perform considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouchingAbility to perform prolonged periods of time in front of a computerReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this workWe are required by federal law to verify identity and eligibility to work in U.S.What We Offer:Competitive salary and benefits package (Retirement plan, health insurance, childcare reimbursement)Opportunities for professional development and growthA supportive and inclusive workplace cultureThe chance to make a meaningful impact on the healthcare experience in our communityTo apply for this position, please submit your resume and a cover letter that highlights your experience and how your unique background will contribute to our team.
