We are looking for a Operations Specialist to perform duties associated with asphalt products at our terminal located in Hardin, MT . You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Essential functions for the position are sufficient hearing, vision, speech, manual dexterity, body strength, and mobility. Compensation Data Hourly rate starting at $23.00perhour and up DOE. You will work approximately 10 months per year (with some intermittent layoff) This position will be eligible for benefits following a qualifying period. 7 paid holidays 24 hours of floating holidays Responsibilities Perform general labor duties throughout the plant, including, general cleanup duties such as sweeping, shoveling, power washing, painting, scraping, jackhammering, and soda blasting. Keep all work areasin a clean, orderly, and safe condition. Perform grounds maintenance including snow removal and the cleanup of material spills. Conductdaily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks including but not limited to lubrication of pumps, valves, and loading arms. Inspect in-use equipment looking for seeps and leaks of process equipment. Document and accurately measure the movement of petroleum products through the terminal. Load and unload asphalt trucks and unload asphalt rail cars. Basic knowledge of hand tools (pipe wrench, sockets, combination wrenches, hammers) Proficient with window-based applications and ability to complete calculations in feet, inches, and sixteenths. Perform other duties as needed or assigned. Maintain a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. Minimum Qualifications (required) Carry a valid driver’slicense. 2+ years of experience in Labor or Operations Additional Qualifications Experience in mechanical and/or electrical fields Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands High School diploma or GED preferred Physical Requirements Abilityto lift 75 pounds. Abilityto climb rail cars, ladders, stairs, and binsand work to heights of 55feet. Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions andtemperatures. Able to wear required protective equipment includingrespirators. Must pass pre-employment drug screen; physical; and backgroundcheck. CHS offers a competitive total rewards package.
