Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity providing dedicated paraprofessional support to a student referred to a specialized setting. This full-time position is centered on assisting a student with a complex profile—primarily focusing on autism support, with Visual Impairment (VI) training provided as needed. Working in partnership with educational professionals, you’ll make a positive impact in a unique environment designed to foster student success.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience working as a paraprofessional, particularly in a school setting
• Confidence supporting students with autism and adapting to complex needs
• Willingness to learn VI support skills (training provided)
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct, individualized assistance to the assigned student throughout the school day
• Support social, academic, and behavioral goals in alignment with stated student plans
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and other staff to implement strategies and accommodations
• Offer encouragement, intervene during behavioral escalations, and maintain engagement in classroom activities
• Gather data and participate in observations relevant to the student’s progress
• Adapt to evolving student and classroom needs as they arise

This role is full-time, Monday through Friday, and follows the student’s 60-day trial period at the specialized school. With support available and the chance to learn new skills, you will play a crucial role at a pivotal moment in the student’s educational journey.
