Brake Operator BFull-time

Job Description Under general supervision, the Brake Operator must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to: Operate various types of machines such as sizing, planisher, and power brakes. Use a power brake to form several types of flat metal stock, e.g., banding, making joggles, and angle bends. Finish-form partially formed parts on punch press, hydro press, and drop hammer equipment. Recognize improper functioning of presses and report conditions to supervisors. Assist other operators as needed. Perform rework, repair, and other associated operations as described. Apply troubleshooting skills. Follow all Senior policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. In addition to the above, Brake Operators are responsible for maintaining an organized, clean, and safe work area in accordance with safety standards and quality practices. Qualifications Education and/or Experience High School Degree or General Education Degree; or 1-2 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Skills Language: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Reasoning Ability: Apply a general understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions. Mathematical Ability: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Other Abilities: Read and interpret blueprints. Tools Used Hand tools, measuring instruments, and templates. Materials Used Lubricants, ferrous and non-ferrous metals and their alloys in the form of flat and shaped parts.
