Vice President of Operations

Job Description

The Head of Operations leads our Las Vegas facility. You'll translate leadership's goals into scalable processes across receiving, card scanning, pack building and fulfillment, lead a floor team of 24, and oversee the site and the vendors that support it.

For the first 6 to 12 months, this is a hands-on, player-coach role: you'll build processes on the floor alongside your team and make a couple of key hires early on to strengthen the bench.

Blez Online is a digital card repack company that combines e-commerce with a live pack-opening experience. Collectors buy, sell and ship trading cards across sports, Pokémon, One Piece and other trading card games. Our packs mix secondary-market singles with sealed product, from booster packs to full boxes. Every card that enters our Las Vegas facility is scanned into our system, so what customers see online matches what's on our shelves.

Key responsibilities

Strategy and leadership alignment

\n

\n
• Partner with the COO and leadership team to turn company goals into an operating plan, budget and staffing plan for Las Vegas
\n
• Report on throughput, inventory accuracy, shipping performance, headcount and spend
\n
• Identify capacity constraints early and recommend when to hire, automate or expand
\n

\n

Process design and execution

\n

\n
• Build and document standard operating procedures for every step: receiving, card scanning and data entry, pack building, quality checks, storage and fulfillment
\n
• Set daily and weekly output targets and the systems to track them
\n
• Drive steady gains in speed, accuracy and cost per pack and per shipment
\n

Team and people management

\n

\n
• Lead and develop a floor team of 24, and make a couple of key hires to deepen the bench
\n
• Own onboarding, training and performance management
\n
• Set schedules, approve timesheets and monitor attendance, hours and overtime
\n
• Build a culture of accuracy and integrity around high-value product
\n

\n

Inventory and product accountability

\n

\n
• Own inventory accuracy for singles and sealed product, from receiving to pack to shipment
\n
• Run regular cycle counts and reconcile physical stock against our platform
\n
• Set controls for high-value cards: chain of custody, access logs and loss prevention
\n

\n

\n

Shipping, storage and fulfillment

\n

\n
• Oversee outbound shipping, including packaging standards, insurance and carrier selection
\n
• Manage storage layout, vault or safe storage for high-value items, and supplies
\n
• Own customer-facing fulfillment metrics: ship time, damage rate, lost-package rate
\n

\n

Systems and technology

\n

\n
• Run daily operations on Blez Online's proprietary platform
\n
• Work with our in-house tech team to shape how the platform supports scanning, inventory, pack building and shipping
\n
• Recommend and roll out operations systems and tools where they fill a gap (scheduling, timekeeping, warehouse tooling)
\n

\n

Facilities and security

\n

\n
• Manage the office and warehouse space, including lease, maintenance, layout and safety
\n
• Select internet providers, network and scanning equipment, with input from the tech team
\n
• Own building security: cameras, alarms, access control and incident response
\n

\n

\n

\n

Vendors and back office

\n

\n
• Serve as the Las Vegas point of contact with our accountants, payroll, insurance, benefits and facility vendors
\n
• Manage facility and operations vendor contracts within the operating budget
\n
• Keep the site compliant with employment, safety and local business rules
\n

\n

\n

\n

Qualifications required

\n

\n
• 5+ years in operations, with 3+ years leading a site, warehouse, fulfillment center or similar hands-on operation
\n
• Track record of building processes from scratch in a growing or early-stage company
\n
• Experience hiring and managing hourly teams of 20 or more
\n
• Inventory control experience with high-value or serialized goods
\n
• Experience managing budgets, vendors and contracts
\n
• Based in Las Vegas, or able to relocate and start within 4 to 6 weeks
\n

Preferred qualifications

\n

\n
• E-commerce fulfillment or 3PL background
\n
• Familiarity with collectibles: trading cards, sports memorabilia, coins, sneakers or luxury resale
\n
• Experience working alongside engineers on custom or in-house software
\n
• Security or loss-prevention experience for high-value inventory
\n
• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or a related field, or equivalent experience
\n

What success looks like (first 90 days)

\n

\n
• Written SOPs in place for receiving, scanning, pack building and shipping
\n
• Full physical inventory count completed and reconciled to the platform
\n
• Security, internet and equipment reviewed, with gaps fixed or budgeted
\n
• Every floor team member trained on their station, and your first key hires underway
\n
• Weekly operations report running for leadership
\n

First year

\n
• Inventory accuracy of 99% or better on cycle counts
\n
• 95% or more of orders shipped within an agreed window (e.g., 2 business days)
\n
• Measurable drop in cost per pack and cost per shipment
\n
• Low turnover and a trained bench that can cover any station
\n
• No unresolved loss or security incidents
\n

Compensation and benefits

\n

\n
• Base salary: $200,000 to $225,000, set by experience
\n
• Annual bonus: 10% to 15% of base, tied to inventory accuracy, fulfillment, cost and team goals
\n
• Total target cash: $220,000 to $258,750
\n
