Recovery Support Specialist-Mobile Crisis Response

Position Overview Recovery Support Specialist – Community-based mobile crisis response in DeKalb, IL. Salary range $17.61–$23.77 hourly; placement based on experience. Must be on‑site within 30 minutes of call. Shift Details On‑Call: 8:00 PM–8:30 AM; minimum 8 shifts/month (weekends/holidays); on‑site coverage. As Needed/PRN: variable shifts; minimum 8 shifts/month (including weekends/holidays). Part‑Time: Sundays 8 AM–8:30 PM; Monday–Wednesday 6‑hour shifts 8 AM–8:30 PM. Responsibilities Advocate for consumers and provide peer support based on personal recovery experience. Provide recovery information and resources, adhering to trauma‑informed care principles. Assess consumer needs, strengths, goals, and resources. Transport consumers to appointments as directed. Advocate within systems for person‑centered recovery services and collaborate with inter‑disciplinary team in case review and planning. Implement individual service plans via case management, outreach, skills‑training groups (e.g., WRAP), social rehabilitation, and community support. Provide linkage case management, participate in treatment and discharge planning. Consult with staff and licensed hospital professionals regarding assessment and intervention planning; maintain communication with supervisor. Consult with other service agencies on case‑specific and programmatic issues. Refer and link consumers to other human service programs and care providers. Serve as liaison to community agencies (police, fire, hospitals). Build relationships to raise awareness of services. Provide on‑site support and introductions to services in hospital and outpatient settings. Train providers in service specialties. Document service provision and maintain clinical and management records per NM policies. Meet productivity requirements set by program goals. Attend mandatory staff meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Recovery Support Specialists must articulate personal experience in recovery when working with patients with mental health and/or substance use issues. Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, annual driving abstract. Upon completion of 2,000 supervised work hours, the specialist must obtain Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) credential. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in behavioral health or related field. At least one year of experience working with individuals with severe mental illness and/or substance use disorders. Experience with Medicaid Rule 132/140. Knowledge of SUPR 2060. Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS). Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) classes. Certified WRAP facilitator.
