It also requires strong knowledge of packaging machine functions, diagnostics, troubleshooting, package criteria, and end‑customer needs. Time Utilization Normal business hours are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. The schedule must be flexible to accommodate internal and external customers’ schedules, and overtime may be required. This position may travel up to 5% of the time. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties to support manufacturing and production may be assigned: Follow the directives from the supervisor to execute the manufacturing production schedule and to fulfill the order requirements of quality machines at the agreed-upon due date. Hands‑on commissioning and final assembly of all automation‑related equipment, troubleshooting, and quality‑control checks. Take schedule ownership for all assigned activities in related work centers, managing daily to ensure material is on schedule to meet the agreed-upon timeline. Process orders in SAP for release, printing, confirmation, and inventory movements for all production orders and projects assigned. Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and operate machines and equipment in all three major departments of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic. Track absorption for yourself, meeting the efficiency your supervisor has set. Handle a project from BOM to shipping with little direction or assistance, meeting quality standards, budgets, and the agreed-upon time. Adhere to established work schedules, order priorities, and practice efficient time management to achieve detailed schedule goals. Perform complex troubleshooting and diagnostics of equipment to determine the required project scope of work related to machinery. Confirm the form, fit, and function of the project and perform early risk analysis to determine if the BOM/components appear complete as needed, and provide immediate feedback to the supervisor if risks are detected. Perform all manufacturing requirements associated with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, safety, and programming components. Assemble and install physical components into quality assemblies, often without the benefit of written assembly instructions. Perform remanufacturing activities to return machines and components back to OEM specifications. Recommend changes as needed to the configuration of production items. Perform modifications when approved by the supervisor. Confirm items not on the provided BOM are attached to production orders for inventory relief. Confirm all floor work is performed to correct standards of performance, alignment, seals, tensioning, attaching, marking, testing, safety, documentation, and component integrity. Confirm machines are prepared for customer shipment by verifying all required components (e.g., gaskets, spares, manuals, toolboxes, film, etc.) are present and accounted for. Document outbound items by photographing prior to transfer. Confirm documents verifying quality assurance, performance testing, settings, risk areas, and exceptions are filled out, sent to the proper contacts, and filed for future reference. Inform the supervisor in advance of needed in/out movement of machines or products. Provide upfront detail information to the supervisor associated with machines scheduled for shipment. Provide item identification of removed items needing storage or disposal. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Implement the management directives associated with policies, goals, and procedures. Perform additional production activities as required by the supervisor. Education/Experience High school diploma and six years of field service, packaging, maintenance, manufacturing, or related experience; or high school diploma and four years of experience as a MULTIVAC Production Tech III; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A high working‑skill knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and machine‑shop activities is required. Mechanical and engineering aptitude is needed. Must have the ability to respond and adjust to high‑stress environments and maintain professionalism in dealing with co‑workers. Needs to be a self‑starter and have the ability to work in unsupervised settings. Possesses the ability to work in both team and individual environments, motivation to achieve success, and the ability to meet customer deadlines in a fast‑paced environment with constantly changing priorities. A history of successful customer service experience is a plus. Math Ability Speed and feed calculations, metric and standard calculations, basic and advanced measuring techniques, ability to calculate dimensions, percentages, area, and volume. Must be able to measure both English and metric dimensions. Knowledge of resources available to complete these tasks. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, inventory software, manufacturing software, and ERP systems. CAD/CAM system experience is a plus. Manufacturing experience with SAP is a plus. Certificates and Licenses Ability to obtain a passport for travel as required by the position. APICS or equivalent body of knowledge concerning inventory management preferred.
