LaSalle Network is partnering with a highly respected family office in Chicago to hire an Accounts Payable Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, high-performing team that manages the financial operations of a diverse portfolio of entities and investments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and organization are essential. The Accounts Payable Accountant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day accounting operations by managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, maintaining vendor records, preparing journal entries, and assisting with various accounting and operational initiatives. This position offers excellent exposure to family office accounting and the opportunity to contribute across multiple entities.

What You'll Do

• Process the full-cycle accounts payable function for more than 100 entities, ensuring invoices are accurately entered, coded, approved, and paid on time.
• Receive, track, and maintain vendor invoices while ensuring proper documentation and authorization.
• Prepare invoice and payment journal entries within the accounting system.
• Code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Serve as a point of contact for vendor inquiries and resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Maintain vendor and entity master files to ensure data accuracy.
• Assist with annual 1099 reporting and related tax documentation.
• Review employee credit card transactions to ensure expenses are properly supported, coded, and recorded.
• Maintain schedules for leases, rent payments, insurance policies, fixed assets, and other recurring obligations.
• Manage incoming physical mail and accounting-related documentation for the Chicago office.
• Support month-end close activities and assist with special projects as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 12 years of accounting experience, ideally within a family office, public accounting, financial services, or a similar environment.
• Experience processing vendor invoices, preparing journal entries, and working within the general ledger across multiple entities.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting fundamentals.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and organize financial data.
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter with a hands-on mentality who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and is willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
