Sage Accounting Specialist

Position Summary Local company is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team and play a key role in our accounting operations and ERP system migration. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Sage 50 , ERP implementations or migrations, and accounting in a light manufacturing environment. This position can be FT/PT/1099. Salary commensurate with experience. This position is ideal for a detail‑oriented accounting professional who enjoys process improvement, system optimization, and working collaboratively across departments. Key Responsibilities Perform day‑to‑day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month‑end close. Support the migration from Sage 50 to a new ERP system, including data validation, testing, and reconciliation. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data throughout the migration process. Assist in maintaining inventory costing, manufacturing transactions, and production‑related accounting. Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting activities. Collaborate with internal teams to improve accounting processes and system efficiencies. Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation as needed. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 3+ years of accounting experience. Hands‑on experience with Sage 50 required. Experience participating in an ERP implementation or migration is strongly preferred. Experience in a light manufacturing environment, including inventory and cost accounting. Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
