Location: Brooklyn, NY Organization: New York Cancer and Blood Specialists Position Overview: Radiation Therapists are responsible for delivering high-quality radiation treatments as prescribed by our Radiation Oncologists. This role plays a vital part in our commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
In This Role, You Will:
- Administer radiation to specific body parts as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist
- Ensure proper patient positioning to guarantee accurate treatment delivery
- Follow all principles of radiation protection for patient, staff, and self
- Review and verify patient charts for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and perform daily quality assurance tests on radiation machines
- Fabricate and use immobilization devices as needed
- Counsel patients and monitor side effects, ensuring safety throughout treatment
- Flexibility to travel to various locations
- Valid NY State License in Radiation Therapy
- Registered with ASRT and ARRT
- Availability for full-time training (5 days/week) for the first 3 weeks
- New grads welcome
