Direct Support Professional
Thomasville, GA | $15.00/ Hour
We are looking for a direct support professional to provide high-quality care to individuals with developmental disabilities. In this role, you will assist individuals in achieving greater independence, improving their daily living skills, and enhancing their overall well-being
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care and support to individuals with cognitive disorders, ensuring their well-being and comfort
- Assist individuals with daily personal tasks, promoting independence while offering necessary support
- Offer companionship, fostering positive relationships and enhancing social engagement
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including vacuuming, dishwashing, and tidying, to maintain a clean and organized living environment
- Coordinate and arrange transportation, ensuring safe and timely travel for appointments or community activities
- Shop for groceries and prepare nutritious meals tailored to specific dietary needs and preferences
- Support individuals in engaging with the community, facilitating meaningful social interactions
- Assist with various activities and programs at the center, promoting development, enjoyment, and personal growth
Requirements
- Clean Drug Test
- Willing to undergo criminal background check
- CPR Certified or willing to become certified
- Comfortable working with individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities
- Work well in a fast-paced environment
- Be self-motivated and stay on task with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift 25+ lbs individually
- Occasional assisted lifting 200+ lbs
Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Pay Range: $15.00 Hourly
Schedule: Multiple Shifts Available
