As a Customer Service Representative, you will play an important role in supporting customer relationships and ensuring accurate, efficient coordination of daily transportation operations. This position is responsible for responding to customer inquiries, entering and maintaining accurate load and customer information within Summit Logistics Group’s Transportation Management System, and coordinating pickup and delivery appointments. The Customer Service Representative will work closely with the Operations Manager and Logistics Coordinator to ensure all load bookings are documented accurately, and customer expectations are met throughout the process.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong communication, data entry, attention to detail, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, along with a high level of urgency and accountability. The successful candidate must be customer-focused, professional, and responsive when addressing inquiries, coordinating appointments, and resolving service-related issues. The ability to maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with internal teams, and provide timely, reliable customer support is essential to success in this role. This position reports directly to the Customer Service Manager.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely load data entry into our TMS operating system.
• Assist with customer inquiries as needed.
• Set all pickup and delivery appointments accurately
• Monitor SLG Customer Service email and assist with timely responses
• Maintain relationships with carriers and customers as needed.
• Solve customer and carrier problems and help resolve issues.
• Ensure all data entry is accurate for Operations team.
• Excellent multitasking skills as well as operating knowledge of computer software programs.
• Update info as needed in customer portals
• Help with paperwork as requested by CSR manager

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1+ years’ experience specifically with domestic freight brokerage.
• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Excellent skills for communicating and relating with both team members and customers.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management software.

Schedule Requirements:

• Regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• This position requires flexibility to provide support outside of regular business hours based on business and operational needs.
• Additional work requirements may include (remote) evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays.

Work Location Requirements:

• This position requires full-time, on-site presence at our Wilmington, NC (28403) facility.
