Job Summary Learning and Engagement Specialist Reports to: Learning and Engagement Manager Classification: Exempt (FLSA) Location: Bentonville, Arkansas (On-site) Date Reviewed: 05/14/2026 The Learning and Engagement Specialist supports the planning and execution of department initiatives, coordinating partner engagement across projects that integrate art and wellness principles. The role works closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to support cross‑functional projects from proposal through implementation, provides consultative support for proposal development and application review, facilitates partner communication, and contributes to the development of department initiatives. Essential Responsibilities Partner Engagement Provide expertise and guidance to external partners applying for department funding with a focus on art and wellness initiatives. Support proposal development and application review, offering constructive feedback and recommendations for museum partners receiving funding. Serve as liaison to museum partners, supporting cross‑functional collaboration, partner communication, and coordination of department initiatives. Lead and facilitate project proposal meetings, prepare agendas, align project goals and timelines, and provide follow‑up coordination. Consult on project proposal budgets and recommend effective award requests. Support planning and execution of on‑site convenings for partner and staff collaboration. Represent the department at public meetings, conferences, and partner site visits, presenting information and facilitating discussions. Program Operations Develop written, video, and/or audio materials highlighting successful initiatives for storytelling and partner engagement. Coordinate project timelines and manage competing priorities while maintaining accurate documentation. Train, mentor, and supervise department interns. Maintain organization and storage of project files within Asana, SharePoint, Salesforce, and other systems. Support implementation of new initiatives and evolving program priorities. Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational needs. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor’s degree in museum studies, education, fine art, art history, arts administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in learning and engagement initiatives within museums, cultural institutions, nonprofits, or similar organizations. Experience supporting proposal development, partner engagement, and project coordination. Knowledge of current best practices and emerging trends in museum education, community engagement, arts programming, and wellness initiatives. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with diverse stakeholders. Analytical, problem‑solving skills, and strong attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners. Enthusiasm for expanding access to American art and engaging diverse communities. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and project management platforms such as Asana and Salesforce. Ability to learn specialized software tools quickly (e.g., Canva, Workday, Trainual). High professional integrity and discretion with sensitive issues. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Adaptability and resilience in a fast‑paced environment. Physical Demands and Work Environment Primary work involves prolonged computer and telephone use. The role requires good hand‑eye coordination, bending, stretching, and the ability to lift up to 10 pounds. Visual acuity for reading materials is required. Work is performed on‑site (Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.) in a climate‑controlled office, with occasional overnight travel for partner visits, meetings, conferences, and other initiatives. An occasionally flexible schedule may be necessary to accommodate business needs.
