Laboratory Support Specialist

The Laboratory Glassware Specialist on centralized laboratory support team, is responsible for the collection, cleaning, inspection, and redistribution of glassware using validated procedures. This role is crucial to ensuring the integrity and availability of laboratory glassware and will suit candidates with strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, transport, and deliver laboratory glassware and plasticware using established contamination control procedures
• Safely handle, process, and sanitize contaminated and non-contaminated laboratory items according to defined protocols
• Operate laboratory equipment, including glassware washers, dry heat sterilizers, and ultrasonic baths
• Prepare and inspect glassware, caps, and related items for cleanliness and structural integrity before returning to the lab
• Maintain equipment logs, temperature chart recorders, and other documentation in line with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
• Conduct operational checks and routine maintenance, including monthly de-scaling and preventive maintenance of glass wash equipment
• Monitor glassware inventory and communicate shortages or needs to the Glassware Lead
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of glassware processing and storage areas

Basic Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline

OR

• High School diploma or equivalent, plus 2+ years of laboratory or operational experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in glass wash or laboratory support services
• Familiarity with autoclaves, glassware washers, or relevant laboratory equipment
