The company is a long-established, stable, B2B engineering and technical services organization supporting critical infrastructure and commercial customers. The business operates in a technically complex, operationally intensive environment across multiple geographies and branch locations.

Revenue is generated through a mix of service, project-based work, equipment/asset-related activity, and recurring support offerings, creating a blended operating model that combines field operations, technical labor, and inventory management.

The company has scaled through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions and is now entering a phase that requires more robust financial infrastructure to support continued expansion, integration activity, and operational discipline.

Role Overview

The Chief Financial Officer will serve as the senior financial leader and a trusted partner to executive leadership. This role is designed for a hands-on, operator-minded CFO who understands field-driven organizations and can evolve the finance function as the company increases in scale, complexity, and geographic footprint.

The CFO will balance strategic leadership with direct involvement across finance, accounting, systems, and performance management, partnering closely with operations, sales, and service leadership.

Primary Focus Areas

• Financial leadership aligned to growth, expansion, and operational scale
• Budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning across multi-branch operations
• Margin visibility across service, project, and asset-supported revenue streams
• Scalable reporting, controls, and financial infrastructure
• Cross-functional partnership with operations and commercial leadership
• Support for acquisition activity and post-close integration
• Development of a strong, capable finance and accounting organization

Qualifications & Experience

• Prior CFO (or Head of Finance) experience required, ideally within a growing, privately held business
• Experience operating in multi-entity, multi-location environments with increasing scale
• Background in businesses with operational intensity (field services, technical services, engineering services, construction-adjacent, or asset-supported models)
• Experience with Percentage Completion Accounting
• Familiarity with service + inventory or equipment-based revenue environments
• Experience with ERP selection, implementation, or major system transformation
• Exposure to M&A activity, including integration and post-close execution
• Strong leadership capability with experience building and developing senior finance talent
• Comfortable working in a hands-on, onsite executive role
• Ability to partner closely with founders or owner-operators

Compensation: $290k-$330k + bonus + LTIP
