Registered Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse - Part Time

Responsibilities Participate in ongoing psychosocial assessment of patients’ goals and needs. Assist in development and implementation of a transdisciplinary treatment plan in collaboration with patients, mental health and substance use clinicians, and others upon patient request. Under direction of the team lead and ARNP/psychiatrist, develop, revise, maintain, and supervise psychopharmacologic and medical treatment—including transcribing, administering, evaluating, and recording psychotropic medications prescribed by the psychiatrist. Evaluate and chart psychotropic medication effectiveness, complications, and side effects; arrange required lab work according to protocol. Conduct regular assessments of therapeutic responses to prescribed psychotropic medications, including complications and side effects. Educate patients regarding psychotropic medications. Organize and manage medication supply and administration, integrating it tightly into patients’ individual service plans. Coordinate, schedule, and administer medical assessments of patients’ physical health; make appropriate referrals to community physicians and coordinate psychiatric and medical treatments. Ensure treatment planning and interventions are patient-centered, culturally competent, and age appropriate, considering all aspects of patients, families, and community psychosocial, economic, and cultural needs. Provide mental health care with respect for patient confidentiality, safety, and self-determination. Utilize community and natural supports to supplement services, aiming to integrate patients into their community and, when clinically indicated, graduate them from services. Initiate and/or facilitate admission to inpatient psychiatric treatment as needed, collaborating with the attending psychiatrist in planning, implementation, and discharge to the community. Collaborate with team to make referrals to community physicians for medical assessments and treatments, coordinating psychiatric and medical care. Complete all required documentation accurately, completely, and timely per agency policies and procedures. Participate in the implementation of agency tracking systems and chart audit procedures. Seek supervisory or collegial assistance with documentation quality or timeliness when needed. Identify program needs and take responsibility for realizing those needs through collective processes. Contribute to program development by attending meetings, serving on working committees, and undertaking independent projects for agency improvement. Maintain safety, security, and confidentiality of patients and families. Maintain professional development and licensure/certification requirements. Contribute to overall professional development of the agency, supporting its function as a training institution. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Licensed registered nurse. At least one year of experience in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatric setting. Strong commitment to the right and ability of each person with a severe and persistent mental illness to live in normal community residences and access adequate supports. Commitment to collaborative, assertive, interdependent work with co‑workers. Skills and competence to establish supportive, trusting relationships with persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses and respect client rights and preferences. Competency in adult psychopathology and pharmacology; clinical treatments of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders; crisis intervention and psychotherapy; professional ethics and client rights. Demonstrated ability to plan and organize work to satisfactory completion. Current, unencumbered driver’s license and proof of current car insurance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Great attendance. Ability to work well with others. Maintain licensure and certification requirements. Compensation Salary: $32.01 – 46.91 per hour DOE Physical Demands Employees regularly sit, speak clearly, hear, and use hands and fingers to manipulate writing utensils and keyboard. Occasionally stand, walk, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or lift up to 15 lbs. Regular operation of a vehicle is required. Working Environment Work is performed indoors in offices, meeting rooms, or community settings.
