Registered Nurse – Progressive Care/Medical Intermediate

Schedule: Contract length: 13 weeks; Shift: Nights, 3 x 12s — 18:45–07:15.

Patient ratio: 1:5.

Requirements:

• 1 year of experience in a medical/surgical intermediate care unit.
• BLS certification.
• NIHSS certification.
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and titration of cardiac drips.
• Experience with post-cardiac catheterization care and basic acute care skills.
• Charting experience with EPIC.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatrics in a progressive care unit.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions using telemetry.
• Administer medications and intravenous therapies as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and health management.
• Respond to changes in patient conditions and initiate appropriate interventions.
